The Role of Young People in Leading

GreenBox Afrik is proudly youth-led. All founding members and volunteers are between the ages of 22 and 30. We are part of a new generation that is not only demanding change but leading it. In January 2025, our team participated in the Step-Up Fashion Incubation Programme, addressing the growing problem of fast fashion in Ghana.

By reimagining discarded plastics into wearable fashion pieces, we challenge both the environmental cost of synthetic clothing and the throwaway culture associated with it. These creative solutions, designed by young people, are paving the way for sustainable fashion movements rooted in African contexts.
